Open APIs create opportunities for everyone in the industry
The purpose of exposing services from our flexible platform via open APIs is to create opportunities. Opportunities for customers, partners, consultants, system integrators and developers in the real estate ecosystem to easily create new innovations with the goal of facilitating the fight against resource wastage and climate impact.
The Edge analytics and optimization platform has always had an open API under constant development. The API offers opportunities to build new services based on Edge functionality or to integrate with other systems.
To simplify use and at the same time create interest in working with our API, all documentation is publicly available. The API is also built with interactive documentation, which allows users to try the API calls directly in the browser. All customers currently using Edge have the opportunity to use our open APIs with existing and future providers.
The solution is based on tools built around the OpenAPI specification that can help design, build, document, and use REST APIs in an open and secure way.
Open APIs for sustainable and smart cities
We know that buildings account for 40% of Europe’s energy consumption and that 36% of carbon emissions come from them. We also know that 75% of Europe’s buildings are classified as energy inefficient and that 95% of these will still be in use in 2050. At the same time, urbanization is putting even more pressure on cities’ ability to meet people’s needs. In addition, 20% of all food in Europe is wasted or lost in production and distribution.
These worrying facts present a great opportunity for us as a united force in real estate management. We believe that the path to success is through the smart city, digitalization and collaboration. Creating a better future is something we must do together. Kiona makes real estate part of the solution
Kiona’s goal is to contribute to the climate goals by energy-optimizing buildings, which account for about 36 percent of carbon emissions.
