Egain Group acquires its Swiss partner, Alpha Eco
Egain Group, a leading technology SaaS company within digital control and energy optimization of residential and government buildings, are pleased to announce the acquisition of Alpha Eco, Egain Group’s Swiss partner since 2013.
Property management specialist companies Egain, IWMAC and Cebyc recently joined forces to become leaders within proptech in Europe. The vision of the new company is to make a big impact in the fight against climate change by offering the smartest and most cost-efficient proptech platform on the market. Through innovative connectivity that monitors, controls and optimizes both the use of energy and organizations, Europe’s existing building stock is now set to become part of the solution for the future. A new group brand name will be announced in the near future.
Buildings account for 40% of Europe’s emissions – mainly arising from heating and cooling – and 75% of all buildings are energy inefficient, with forecasts indicating that as much as 95% of today’s building stock will still be in use 50 years from now. What this means is that optimization of energy consumption in buildings will inevitably play a key role when it comes to reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 55% by 2030, which is the ambition of the EU.
“Alpha Eco and its management and personnel is a key partner in developing the Swiss market to make sure that we stay close to our customers and also support them in enhanced building management, reduced energy and environmentally friendly operations. The acquisition will enable us to leverage that work even more, and it fits well with our ambition to create the leading proptech platform in Europe”, says Trond-Øystein Bjørnnes, CEO Egain Group.
The team at Alpha Eco will stay within the new organization to secure ongoing operations. “We have prepared for this merger and are ready to continue supporting the swiss market together with our new colleagues at Egain. For our customers, the acquisition only brings positives as Alpha Eco becomes part of the group instead of cooperating as a franchisee”, comments Jean-Claude Michaca, Head of Business, Alpha Eco.
Antoine Edde, founder of Alpha Eco commented, “After a decade of successful foundational work on the Swiss market, it is a logical and sound step for the Alpha ECO team to become a direct part of the Egain group, and it can only be beneficial to our customers.”
